Aerials

Build strength, balance, and control on silks, trapeze, and lyra, with opportunities to explore rope, Spanish web, and more as you progress. These classes boost flexibility, coordination, and confidence in a supportive, creative space - perfect for all levels and goals.

Level 1

A young girl wearing a red shirt and black leggings is practicing aerial acrobatics on a trapeze with the help of an instructor. The instructor, wearing a red shirt and black pants with colorful socks, is standing on a padded surface.

Aerials Level 1 is where students begin their circus journey in the air. This class is designed to build the core strength, body awareness, and technical understanding needed to move confidently and safely on aerial apparatus such as silks, trapeze, and lyra. Students will learn key foundational skills like climbing techniques, basic hangs, poses, and body shapes, while starting to develop sequences with good form. Emphasis is placed on safe mounting and dismounting, understanding correct body positions like straddle and tuck, and becoming familiar with common aerial language and technique. Alongside aerial training, students will also explore basic tumbling, partner balances, and object manipulation to support coordination, creativity, and full-body strength.

Level 2

A young girl performs aerial silk acrobatics on purple fabric at an indoor circus or aerial arts venue. She is hanging upside down, smiling, with her hair hanging downward.

Aerials Level 2 is where students build on their foundational aerial skills and begin developing full routines and transitions across silks, trapeze, and lyra. At this level, students gain confidence working at greater heights, explore more complex wraps and balances, and start learning dynamic movements like drops and rolls in a safe, progressive way. Sequences become longer and more expressive, combining strength, flexibility, and timing. Students will refine their climbing techniques, improve their form and flow, and begin linking shapes into short choreographed routines. Aerials Level 2 prepares students for the artistic and technical demands of Level 3, with a strong focus on clean execution, control, and self-directed movement.

Level 3

A girl performing aerial acrobatics on a silver hoop in a circus tent.

Aerials Level 3 is where technique meets creativity. In this class, students deepen their skills across silks, trapeze, and lyra while building the strength, awareness, and artistry needed for more advanced movement. You'll begin to explore dynamic sequences, drops, and complex transitions, with an emphasis on clean form, body tension, and spatial control. Performance becomes a core focus - students learn to devise and rehearse group routines, combining technical skills with expressive movement. Level 3 students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, reflect on their strengths, and train safely and independently. This class prepares aerialists for the creative and physical demands of Level 4, where personal style and advanced aerial vocabulary take centre stage.
