Circus Monoxide is Wollongong’s Circus Hub, specialising in circus and joy since 1996. An inclusive and ever evolving centre for high flying, stilt walking, spinning, tumbling, fun-loving entertainers of all ages. Led by world renowned trainers, we offer classes six days per week and have performance opportunities during, and at the end of each term. Our facility is available for open training, birthday parties, and function hire.
Circus Monoxide is a not-for-profit, community-minded organisation that celebrates the arts in the Illawarra while promoting a socially inclusive environment for all.
We are grateful to all our partners and we wouldn't be able to do what we do without the ongoing support of government, local businesses and advocates through their sponsorship.
All transactions on our booking system allow for donations of any amount and every single dollar donated helps.
Circus Monoxide is proud to be a representative of the wonderful Wollongong community and what can be achieved when little dreams are given the opportunity to grow.
Circus Monoxide maintains a circus training facility for internal programming that is also available for hire by community groups for events. The space is approximately 24m x 16m x 6m H, is fit out with wooden flooring throughout and typically divided down the middle.
The facility has engineered truss to support aerial training and performances and a seating system for up to 124 audience members. The circus has a broad range of apparatus and safety equipment, including large areas covered in acromats.
Axis is our latest step into creating and producing exciting performances. Under leadership of our Artistic Director, Zebastian Hunter, aXis is developing as an elite, contemporary circus performance company with plans for touring around Australia, and beyond. Through the inspiring work of our Trainers at Circus Monoxide, students will grow into confident performers to ultimately join the youth performance group and become part of the cast on some productions.
