Neisha Murphy

Circus Trainer

Neisha is a vibrant variety entertainer and director who graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Theatre and media) and holds aDiploma of Circus Arts from New Zealand.   She recently won the International Women’s Day Committee 2021Creativity Award for her work on a developing a video documentary focussed on artists and inspired by the current pandemic crisis.

 

Her performance style blends a mix of physical skill and characterisation, her skills include juggling, slack rope, hosting, comedy and she performs a range of dare devil stunts. Danger is her middle name and she is best known for juggling knives and saws, launching machetes with her very own catapult and balancing a range of dangerous objects upon her face. 

Neisha has been aact/show director and Head Trainer for Circus Monoxide since 2005 and has worked for many companies, events and festivals including The South AfricanState Theatre, Legs on the Wall, The Hoopla Festival, The Flying Kiwi Circus,Circus Aotearoa and the Kidsfest Festival in New Zealand, Viva la gong festival, Arts Projects Australia in Adelaide, The West Australian Ballet, TheTasmanian Circus Festival, Free Associations production of The Nutcracker, TheCircus Proms series with New Zealand’s Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and performed in the famous Spiegeltent in Circus Monoxide’s production of‘Built’.
